The Carnival is one of the most loved children's parties, and not only, during these days it is possible to dress the character we love most and make funny jokes to our dearest friends.

Many do not know, however, that this party has roots very deep and that the tradition comes from afar: here is some information and when to celebrate in 2020.

The meaning of the word itself is 'to eliminate the meat', in fact, the holiday falls precisely during the period of Lent where, usually, Catholic believers do not consume the meat.

The Carnival is coming and with it all the traditions, the jokes and the typical food from this period. Many do not know the traditions of this very ancient holiday and simply celebrate it with masks and coriander. In reality, as explained in the previous paragraph, Carnival has ancient roots and customs.

In Italy, according to some sources, this event was already celebrated between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, in fact, there are some testimonies of the custom in different cities of the Bel Paese. TO Venice, where every year the local Carnival makes all the newspapers speak, goes back to eighteenth century.

This year the party will begin on February 9, Sunday of Settuagesima, and will end on February 25, Fat Tuesday.

As everyone knows, for the Catholic religion the period just mentioned precedes Lent. In the days of Lent Christians devote themselves to reflection and prayer pending the Easter.
